Job Description
Our client is seeking Chief Cloud Architect with experience in design, development of IT architecture, and all aspects of software development lifecycle. The candidate must have demonstrated experience successfully architecting large, complex systems using a wide array of technologies. The candidate will be responsible for designing solutions in various cloud service provider environments (e.g., AWS, Google). Must be well versed in DevSecOps and ITIL best practices. Coordinates with customer stakeholders to baseline the deliverables. Candidate will work on a multi-faceted, fast paced, high priority project, requiring both hard and soft skills and focused dedication. 1. Collaborate with key stakeholders assessing As-Is environment, construct a To-Be vision based on strategic goals, and a roadmap to achieve the To-Be solution.
2. Rearchitect and/or refactor applications to deploy or build natively in the cloud.
3. Apply technical knowledge in the design and development of solutions to complex technical engineering and applications problems.
4. Apply knowledge of enterprise IT or engineering needs to modernize applications, generate valid requirements, and ensures that these are consistent with the customer's enterprise technical architecture.
5. Conduct architectural analysis and review, application integration, provide guidance to developers, and ensure adherence to best practices as well as the customer's business objectives.
6. Conduct architectural design with focus on planning, deploying, and supporting cloud management platform improvements including self-services, orchestration, automation, reporting, and integration.
Required Skills & Experience
1. 5-7 years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline.
2. Subject matter expertise with Cloud Service Providers including Amazon Web Services (AWS).
3. Experience with implementing integration solutions using RESTful Web Services and Web APIs.
4. Programming experience with at least one language such as Java, Python, or C++ including object-oriented design, development, and relational databases such as Oracle or SQL Server.
5. Experience implementing, migrating, managing, and operating systems/applications in an enterprise cloud computing environment.
6. Experience writing technical documentation, especially in relation to Cloud architecture.
7. Experience creating and presenting technical analysis, findings, and recommendations to leadership.
8. At least one cloud technology experience (e.g., AWS, Google).
9. Strong problem-solving skills in troubleshooting issues and maintenance of operational support services.
10. Possesses knowledge and experience in DevSecOps and ITIL.
11. One or more cloud certifications (AWS, Google, Azure) or able to obtain after start.
12. Experience working in a Federal Government environment.
13. Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.
14. US Citizen.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
1. Experience working in U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agency.
2. Active security clearance.
