Job Description

We are hiring a Sr Tax Associate for our client in Woodstock, VT. Our client is a growing accounting firm with 16 offices across 10 states. They offer accounting, tax, and financial services to their clients. Their clients are mostly small local businesses as well as individuals.

This is a hybrid role, requiring in office work. During tax season, in office work will be more frequent. Out of tax season, the schedule is more flexible.

The Sr Tax Associate will work as a part of a team to solve problems, research, and complete various financial projects. Providing clients with tax related projections and general planning as needed. The Sr Tax Associate will review and sign individual, business, and fiduciary returns.

Responsibilities:
• Review U.S. and multi-state income tax returns for business entities, including C‐corporations, S-Corporations, partnerships, and fiduciary returns
• Review U.S. and state individual income and gift tax returns
• Prepare tax projections for individual and business clients
• Conduct tax research as needed
• Communicate with existing clients and colleagues regarding various tax matters
• Engage in consulting and special projects as requested by clients

Required Skills & Experience

• 4+ years of relevant tax experience
• CPA License preferred, but EA would be considered
• Experience with VT tax law preferable.
• Ability to work well independently and with a team
• Proficient with QuickBooks and trial balance software
• Ability to meet deadlines while handling multiple client projects in a fast-paced environment
