Job Description
This is a field-focused commissioning engineer role, meaning most of your time is spent ensuring electrical systems are installed correctly, tested thoroughly, and ready to be safely energized and turned over to operations. The role combines hands-on field work, troubleshooting, coordination, and documentation.

Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited), or
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Technology with a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
• 4+ years of experience in electrical engineering, power systems, or commissioning in power generation, industrial, or related industries
• Working knowledge of:
• Electrical power systems and equipment (switchgear, transformers, generators)
• Electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, and control systems
• Commissioning, testing, and startup processes
• Proficiency with power system analysis tools (e.g., ETAP, SKM, PSCAD, MATLAB, or similar)
• Experience with protection relay testing and electrical test equipment (e.g., Omicron, Doble, Megger)
• Understanding of:
• Protection coordination and arc flash analysis
• Grid integration and energy storage systems
DCS/SCADA systems and electrical integration
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or actively pursuing
• Experience with power generation, data centers, or BESS systems
• Experience supporting or leading commissioning and startup activities
Familiarity with FAT/SAT execution and turnover processes
