Job Description

Insight Global is searching for an Energetics Technician to support one of their customers in the aerospace and defense industry. This energetics technician would be supporting the manufacturing of solid rocket motors by mixing and casting propellant batches in a high‑safety, high‑precision environment. This is a hands‑on manufacturing role where attention to detail, safety awareness, and consistency are critical. Their responsibilities would include:
- Mix and cast propellant batches (typically 6–15 batches per day depending on formulation)
- Handle and measure chemical materials precisely according to defined recipes
- Cast propellant into tubes and prepare materials for curing
- Work in full PPE within a safety‑critical environment
- Lift and move materials (20–50 lbs) as part of the production process
- Collaborate closely with a small, tight‑knit production team in a confined workspace
- Follow strict procedures to ensure quality, safety, and repeatability

Required Skills & Experience

High school diploma
Prior manufacturing, production, or assembly experience
Strong attention to detail and safety‑first mindset
Comfort performing basic math and unit conversions
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical labor
Willingness to work fully on‑site
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
Ability to obtain a DoD secret clearance if required

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience with hazardous materials, chemicals, energetics, or ammunition
Associates or Bachelor’s degree (Chemistry or Chemical Engineering a plus)
Exposure to quality‑driven manufacturing environments
Lean / Six Sigma familiarity
Personal interest or hobby related to mechanics, chemistry, or rocketry
