Job Description

An employer in the Salt Lake City, UT market is seeking a Lead TEMPEST Electrical Engineer to lead TEMPEST programs supporting the design, analysis, testing, and certification of mission‑critical defense systems. In this role, you will serve as a technical authority for TEMPEST compliance, working across system and subsystem levels to ensure designs meet applicable NSA, DoD, and customer requirements. You will support architectural decisions, schematic and layout reviews, cable design, grounding and isolation strategies, and electromagnetic risk mitigation throughout the product lifecycle, using analysis and simulation tools to predict and resolve emissions issues.
This position also involves hands‑on leadership of TEMPEST laboratory and chamber testing, including pre‑test calibration, execution of test procedures, troubleshooting of anomalies, and development of TEMPEST control plans, Critical Features Lists, and formal test reports for customer and NSA review. You will participate in design reviews and proposal efforts, collaborate closely with cross‑functional engineering teams, government and NSA TEMPEST experts, and external suppliers, and provide technical guidance and mentoring to both engineering and non‑engineering staff. The role operates in a high‑accountability environment with increasing program demand and requires an active U.S. Secret security clearance (Top Secret preferred), along with demonstrated experience delivering compliant, certifiable defense systems in accordance with established TEMPEST standards.

This role is offering $110-120/hr.
