Job Description
A client of Insight Global is looking to hire a lead technician in the Salt Lake City area.
This technician will be responsible for executing complex installation tasks, and ensuring all project work meets standards related to quality, safety, budget, scope, and timeline. This person will perform hands‑on work including (but not limited to): cable pulls, cable terminations, equipment installation, rack fabrication, wiring layout, metal fabrication, and full system build‑outs.
Responsibilities include:
• Execute installation tasks: cable pulls, terminations, equipment mounting, rack fabrication, and wiring.
• Interpret and implement engineered drawings, plans, and system specifications.
• Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and quality inspections.
• Document all installation activities accurately and on time.
• Maintain safe working conditions and ensure all team members follow safety protocols.
Communicate progress, issues, and updates to the Project Manager.

Required Skills & Experience
• 3+ years of experience in AV/IT installation or a related field.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and experience working with AV systems, structured cabling, and low‑voltage installation methods.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
Proficiency with hand/power tools and installation equipment.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Industry certifications (OSHA, AVIXA, manufacturer trainings).
• CTS Certification
• Experience with DSPs, control systems, and networked AV environments.
Advanced fabrication or metal‑working capability.
