Job Description
One of Insight Global’s higher education clients is seeking a Fullstack Software Engineer to support and modernize a system that automates Department of Labor (DOL) registration workflows. This engineer will work closely with the product manager, existing senior engineer, and platform stakeholders to eliminate legacy components, migrate data and workflows into AWS, and prepare the system for increased usage during peak registration cycles. The ideal candidate is highly self‑sufficient, comfortable navigating ambiguity, and experienced in both backend TypeScript and React.

Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer working with TypeScript across the stack
Strong backend engineering experience with Node.js, REST APIs, and AWS services
Experience with React; able to contribute to UI development even if not a pure frontend specialist
Hands-on experience with browser automation frameworks (Playwright preferred; Cypress acceptable)
Self-starter mentality with the ability to drive work forward without heavy oversight
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience with Postgres or similar relational databases
Familiarity with data analytics integrations or piping data into BI tools (e.g., ThoughtSpot)
Exposure to AI-assisted development workflows or modern AI tooling
Experience in higher education, government workflows, or regulated data environments
