Overview: One of Insight Globals higher education clients is seeking a dedicated UX Accessibility Specialist to join their team! This specialist will support their ongoing efforts in creating inclusive, accessible products across the universitys education technology domain. This role plays a crucial part in addressing and verifying accessibility updates, fostering a culture of accessibility awareness, and ensuring our platforms meet WCAG standards. The ideal candidate has experience conducting accessibility reviews and audits, testing accessibility features, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to provide guidance and advocate for accessibility improvements.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Conduct accessibility reviews and audits to verify engineering fixes, ensuring compliance with WCAG standards.
Test screen reader functionality, tabbing order, and other accessibility features to validate proper implementation.
Review and verify alt text for visuals, color contrast, and consumable content order for screen readers.
Utilize tools such as Level Access to identify accessibility gaps and track progress.
Work in parallel with various product domains, addressing accessibility tasks across all areas simultaneously.
Advocate for accessibility best practices across the organization.

Proven experience in UX Accessibility best practices, including reviews, testing, verifications, and more.
Familiarity with adhering to accessibility guidelines (WCAG).
Experience working with tools such as Level Access, Jetpack Compose, SwiftUI, or similar technologies.
A passion for accessibility and a commitment to creating inclusive experiences for all users.
Bachelors Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies or similar certification.
