An insurance client of Insight Global is looking for a Lead Web Developer to join their Agent and Client Solutions IT Group. The team will be providing support and working on projects, improving the overall experience for their agents, they have over 1.5K insurance agents across the US. This team mainly supports an in-house system that has various functionalities for their agents to successfully support their new and current client base, such as digitizing legal documents, online applications, or quote illustrations. They have anywhere from 300-1000 applications being uploaded in the system per day so this person will spend about 80% of their time supporting this system, resolving issues in the production environment and increasing overall functionality. This candidate must be proficient in the full software development process, running applications on IBM WebSphere Application Server and Java Web Services, and have experience overseeing a technical development team. This team will also start supporting more enterprise applications, and the Team Lead will be managing 3-5 direct reports dedicated to this team. This team works on a hybrid/remote schedule; working on site Monday Tuesday and Wednesdays and remote Thursday Friday so this person must be comfortable working on-site in League City, TX.
At least 5+ years of experience in web-based software development, primarily with Java/J2EE
2+ years of experience leading/managing a team of technical developers
2 + years of experience developing UI components in JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
Ability to provide project direction with business counterparts and drive initiatives and tasks within the development team on a daily basis
Strong written, verbal, customer service and analytical skills
Insurance industry experience
