Job Description

An employer is seeking a Network Engineer to join our IT team in Coppell, TX. This role will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and security of the company's network infrastructure across office, production, and warehouse environments. The ideal candidate will have strong networking fundamentals, experience managing firewalls and network security, and the ability to support infrastructure projects while ensuring reliable and secure connectivity throughout the organization.
This position offers an opportunity to play a key role in expanding and improving our network environment while partnering closely with internal IT teams, developers, and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Network Infrastructure & Operations
• Design, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, wireless, VPN, and VLAN environments.
• Deploy and support network switches, routers, wireless access points, and firewalls.
• Install and configure network infrastructure for new production lines, facilities, and business initiatives.
• Manage IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, and network segmentation.
• Document network configurations, diagrams, standards, and procedures.
• Monitor network performance and proactively resolve connectivity and performance issues.
Network Security
• Administer and maintain next-generation firewall environments, including policy management and security best practices.
• Support vulnerability management efforts, including network vulnerability scanning and remediation.
• Assist with cybersecurity initiatives related to NIST compliance, audit readiness, and evidence gathering.
• Partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure network security aligns with business and compliance requirements.
• Implement and maintain secure network access controls and segmentation strategies.
Infrastructure & Project Support
• Support deployment of new business applications, services, APIs, and infrastructure components.
• Configure firewall rules, ports, and network access requirements for new systems and integrations.
• Collaborate with systems administrators, developers, and third-party vendors on infrastructure projects.
• Assist with infrastructure planning, upgrades, and hardware deployments.
• Provide technical guidance on network architecture and best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of hands-on Network Engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and VPN technologies.
• Experience configuring and managing firewalls, preferably SonicWall, Fortinet, or other next-generation firewall platforms.
• Experience with network security principles, vulnerability management, and security best practices.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience deploying, maintaining, and documenting enterprise network environments.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• CCNA or equivalent networking certification.
• Experience with Dell or Cisco switching environments.
• Familiarity with Meraki, Ruckus, or similar wireless platforms.
• Experience supporting NIST compliance initiatives, security audits, or regulatory requirements.
• Exposure to VMware, SAN/storage environments, or systems administration.
• Experience in manufacturing, distribution, warehouse, or logistics environments.
• Familiarity with network monitoring and vulnerability scanning tools.
