Job Description

About the Role
We are seeking a Junior SCADA Administrator to join our dynamic Real-Time Operations team supporting upstream oil & gas activities. This is a hands-on, onsite role based in downtown Houston, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about automation, data, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
• Administer and maintain multiple Ignition SCADA systems, ensuring reliability and performance.
• Develop and implement advanced scripting solutions to customize and optimize the SCADA platform.
• Write and maintain Python scripts to automate tasks and enhance system functionality.
• Utilize SQL knowledge to manipulate and query databases for data analysis and reporting (SQL experience is a plus).
• Assist in the normalization and standardization of large data overhauls to ensure data integrity.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to design and implement user-friendly SCADA screens.
• Travel to client sites every week (on average one night per week) to provide on-site support and assistance.
• Act as a self-motivated, self-starter capable of working independently and in a team.
• Effectively address technical challenges, formulate plans, and execute them within specified timelines.
• Execute intermediate custom scripting to meet project requirements.

This position must sit onsite 5 days / week in Houston, TX, Columbus, OH, or San Antonio, TX. Based on knowledge and years of experience, this position offers an hourly pay rate range of $50-75/hr.

Required Skills & Experience

• 2 - 3 years of development experience with Ignition
• 2 - 3 years oil and gas industry experience, upstream preferred
• Experience on large scale design and development of HMI and SCADA systems built around the Ignition platform
• Experience in implementing complex architecture with on-premises Ignition SCADA system and troubleshooting knowledge
• Experience working with various device interfaces like OPC UA, Modbus, MQTT etc
• Experience designing and building Scada solutions, ideally with Ignition.
• Experience Integrating SCADA with Allen-Bradley, Emerson ROC, ABB TotalFlow PLCs.
• Proficiency in higher-level programming languages such as C#/.NET, SQL, Python, and JavaScript.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Ignition Core and Gold Certification
• Cygnet Scada software experience
• Experience integrating SCADA data into enterprise data pipelines
• Experience with large datasets
• Familiarity with SQL or Oracle databases
