Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Controls Systems Engineer to lead industrial automation and controls projects from design through commissioning and ongoing support. This individual will serve as a technical lead responsible for control system design, programming, project execution, customer engagement, and energy optimization initiatives. This is a fully remote opportunity with up to 40% travel.
Key Responsibilities
Design, program, troubleshoot, and optimize industrial control systems and HMI/SCADA applications.
Lead automation and digital services projects from concept through implementation.
Develop project schedules, manage budgets, and ensure on-time project delivery.
Support integration of industrial control systems, instrumentation, and network communications.
Serve as the primary technical contact for customers and internal stakeholders.
Perform system commissioning, testing, QA/QC, and documentation.
Provide technical leadership, training, and support throughout project lifecycles.
Manage subcontractors and coordinate engineering activities as needed.

Required Skills & Experience
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or 8+ years of relevant controls/automation experience.
Experience with industrial automation, control systems, and instrumentation.
Strong understanding of industrial networking, communications protocols, and system integration.
Experience leading projects, managing schedules, and interacting directly with customers.
Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and drive solutions independently.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Preferred Experience
SCADA, HMI, PLC, or industrial automation platforms.
Energy management, smart buildings, or industrial digital services.
Electrical systems ranging from low to medium voltage.
Industrial network architecture and controls integration
