Job Description
About Mariana Minerals
Mariana Minerals is a software-first, vertically integrated minerals company on a mission to supply the critical minerals powering modern energy, AI, and defense technologies. We're reimagining the minerals supply chain by combining deep industry expertise with advanced software, automation, and data-driven decision-making.
The Role
Mariana Minerals is looking for a sharp Project Controls Analyst to support cost, progress, and reporting across our large capital projects. Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, you will develop the weekly and monthly progress reports leadership relies on—tracking subcontractor manhours, earned value, and spend against budget, and integrating owner's engineering and overall project progress into a single view. You will turn data from many sources into clean, decision-ready dashboards and narratives. This is a hands-on, data-heavy role for someone who is fluent in Excel, comfortable with earned value, and energized by making complex projects legible.
What You'll Do
• Compile weekly and monthly project progress reports—dashboards, KPIs, and supporting narratives
• Collect and track subcontractor manhours across multiple subcontractors; validate against timesheets and daily/weekly reports
• Track physical progress and earned value (BCWS / BCWP / ACWP); compute CPI / SPI and explain variances
• Track commitments, actuals, and spend against budget; maintain the cost report / cost ledger
• Support forecasting (EAC / ETC), accruals, and cash-flow / S-curve updates
• Consolidate owner's-engineering progress and overall project progress into integrated reporting
• Maintain the progress-measurement system (rules of credit) and update percent-complete
• Support the change log (trends, PCNs, variations) and its cost/schedule impacts; reconcile data across subcontractors, engineering, and finance
• Build and maintain cost, manhour, and progress dashboards (Power BI / Excel) and align with scheduling (Primavera P6) for integrated reporting
Desired Qualifications
• 2–10 years of experience in project controls, cost control, or project reporting on capital projects / EPC
• Solid grasp of earned value management, progress measurement, and spend-vs-budget tracking
• Advanced Excel skills (complex formulas, pivot tables, multi-source data consolidation)
• Experience tracking manhours and productivity across multiple subcontractors
• Ability to turn messy, multi-source data into clean management reports and dashboards
• Detail-oriented, with the ability to reconcile large datasets accurately
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, finance, or business—or equivalent experience
Preferred, but not required:
• EPC / industrial / mining / oil & gas / power / infrastructure project experience
• Familiarity with Primavera P6 (schedule integration)
• Experience with cost-management systems (EcoSys, ARES Prism, InEight, SAP)
• Proficiency with Power BI or similar data-visualization tools
• Exposure to owner's-engineering / owner-side reporting; AACE certification (EVP, CCP, PSP) a plus
