Databricks Product Owner

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Technical Manager / Product Owner to lead a large-scale enterprise data platform modernization initiative, migrating from Azure Synapse Analytics to Databricks. This individual will serve as the primary technical and delivery lead, coordinating multiple internal teams as well as external partners, including Microsoft, to ensure successful planning, execution, and delivery of the migration program.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in data platform modernization, Agile delivery, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership, with hands-on knowledge of Azure data technologies and Databricks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end delivery of the Azure Synapse to Databricks migration program.
- Manage and coordinate multiple internal development, infrastructure, and business teams along with external partners, including Microsoft.
- Drive project planning, prioritization, execution, risk management, and issue resolution across multiple workstreams.
- Serve as Product Owner, managing the product backlog and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Facilitate communication between technical teams, business stakeholders, and executive leadership.
Ensure project milestones, timelines, and deliverables are successfully achieved.
- Support governance, architecture reviews, and best practices throughout the modernization initiative.
- Partner with business users to validate migrated solutions and ensure successful adoption.

- Proven experience leading enterprise Databricks implementation or migration projects.
- Experience managing a Databricks implementation/modernization/migration initiative
- Strong Product Owner and/or Technical Project Management experience using Agile methodologies.
- Experience coordinating multiple cross-functional teams and third-party vendors (Microsoft experience preferred).
- Strong understanding of Azure data services, cloud architecture, and modern data platforms.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

- Experience managing Azure Synapse to Databricks modernization initiatives is highly preferred.
- Experience with Power BI modernization and report migration projects.
- Scrum certifications (CSPO, SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager, PMP, or equivalent) are a plus.
- Experience with enterprise-scale data analytics and cloud transformation programs.
