Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Observability Engineer with 5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise monitoring and observability solutions across complex, multi-cloud environments. This individual will play a key role in improving system reliability, performance, and operational visibility through observability best practices, automation, and infrastructure management.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with SolarWinds, New Relic, Terraform, configuration management tools, and cloud platforms including AWS and Azure. This role will partner closely with Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure, DevOps, and Application teams to build scalable monitoring solutions that support critical business services.

Key Responsibilities
• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise observability and monitoring solutions across AWS and Azure environments.
• Configure and optimize monitoring platforms including SolarWinds and New Relic to provide proactive visibility into infrastructure, applications, and cloud services.
• Develop monitoring standards, dashboards, alerts, and reporting to improve system performance and reliability.
• Automate observability deployments and configurations using Terraform and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
• Build and enhance monitoring solutions for cloud-native, hybrid, and on-premises environments.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Cloud, DevOps, and Application teams to establish observability best practices and incident response processes.
• Create automated workflows for event correlation, alert management, and operational remediation.
• Support infrastructure provisioning and operational automation using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies.
• Analyze performance trends, identify system bottlenecks, and recommend improvements to enhance availability and scalability.
• Participate in root cause analysis efforts and provide recommendations to prevent recurring issues.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, and operational procedures related to observability and monitoring platforms.
• Ensure monitoring and observability solutions align with security, compliance, and operational requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in Observability Engineering
• Strong hands-on experience with enterprise monitoring and observability platforms, including:
o SolarWinds
o New Relic
• Experience supporting and monitoring workloads in AWS and Azure environments.
• Strong automation experience using Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as:
o Ansible
o Chef
o Puppet
• Experience building monitoring dashboards, alerting frameworks, and performance reporting.
• Knowledge of cloud-native monitoring, distributed systems, logging, and application performance monitoring (APM).
• Scripting experience with PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Strong understanding of networking, operating systems, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise application architectures.
• Experience supporting hybrid cloud and on-premises environments.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and containerized workloads.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience integrating observability tools with ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, GitHub, or similar platforms.
• AWS or Azure certifications are a plus.
