Job Description
Insight Global is in search of a Mid-Level Water/Wastewater engineer to join one of our largest engineering consultant clients in Houston, Texas. This client is responsible for many facets within the engineering world including geotechnical, civil, electrical, water/wastewater, transportation with various different clients. This role will be primarily commercial facing with a focus on industrial clients, mainly Oil & Gas related. This person will be splitting their time between high level Program Management & technical responsibilities with a high degree of autonomy associated with both.
Day to Day:
• Attend and potentially lead regularly scheduled meetings of the client.
• Lead internal engineering and design teams on single and multi-disciplined projects.
• Assume role of lead technical engineer as needed.
• Review other members of the team’s design efforts.
• Review calculations prepared by others within the Process/Environmental group related to water resources or water/wastewater design.
• Perform periodic quality control reviews.
• Help manage project budget and schedule.
• Oversee the preparation of permit applications to regulatory agencies; occasionally take lead on permit application preparation.
• Interface with vendors, equipment suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Meet with regulatory agencies.
• Attend bid openings, review bid packages and make recommendations to clients for the award of contracts.
• Occasionally, serve as lead person on proposal development of new opportunities.
• Write proposals and Engineering Work Orders.
• Prepare and learn to interact with commercial/industrial clients to identify needs and develop solutions.

Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, Chemical, etc.)
• A Professional Engineering (PE) License
• 5–8 years of experience designing and managing commercial or industrial water/wastewater projects
• 1-3 years of experience in project management role.
o Knowledge and experience with environmental laws, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements of Texas
• Good communication (Coordinate meetings, conduct effective client presentations, prepare written reports)
• Ability to travel to client locations, both sites and offices
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Good existing relationships with local and statewide clients in the water/wastewater sector
• Ability to work on multiple, unique assignments simultaneously in a fast paced environment
• Previous experience mentoring groups, having multiple direct reports
• Ability to potentially bring work / clients to this position
