Job Description

An employer is seeking an experienced CAM Programmer to support precision manufacturing operations by developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs for complex machining applications. This individual will work closely with engineering, production, and machinist teams to translate CAD models and engineering drawings into efficient, high-quality machining programs that drive productivity, accuracy, and cost savings.

Key Responsibilities include:

Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs using CAM software for milling, turning, and multi-axis machining operations
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD models, and GD&T requirements to develop machining strategies
Select appropriate tooling, cutting parameters, speeds, and feeds to maximize efficiency and quality
Simulate and verify toolpaths to ensure program accuracy and collision-free operation
Collaborate with engineers and manufacturing teams to improve manufacturability and production processes
Troubleshoot machining and programming issues and implement corrective actions
Continuously optimize cycle times, material utilization, and manufacturing costs
Maintain program documentation, tooling information, setup sheets, and process records
Ensure compliance with all quality, safety, and manufacturing standards. The ideal candidate combines strong CAM programming expertise with hands-on manufacturing knowledge, has experience supporting multi-axis machining operations, and can optimize machining processes for quality, efficiency, and throughput while collaborating effectively across cross-functional teams. This is a direct hire position with the client paying $35/hr as a salaried employee.
