Job Description
The Telecom Sales Engineer serves as a trusted technical advisor to the sales organization, supporting the evaluation, design, and delivery of Conterra Networks’ technology solutions for enterprise, carrier, and government customers. This role partners closely with Account Executives throughout the sales cycle to understand customer requirements and align network and connectivity solutions to business objectives. The Sales Engineer builds strong relationships with customer technical stakeholders and serves as a key resource for addressing technical questions and solution recommendations. Working under the guidance of senior team members, this individual researches customer infrastructure, identifies technical challenges, and helps develop tailored solutions. The position assists in delivering product demonstrations, technical presentations, and solution overviews through onsite meetings, virtual sessions, and industry events. The Sales Engineer also contributes to responses for Requests for Information (RFIs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs), ensuring technical accuracy and alignment with customer needs. Success in this role requires a solid understanding of telecommunications, networking, servers, applications, and modern IT technologies. The ideal candidate possesses experience supporting and selling technical solutions within enterprise, government, or carrier environments and understands the operational and business drivers behind connectivity services. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to identify risks and resolve issues are essential to effectively support customers and internal stakeholders. This role requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and a willingness to travel as needed to support customer engagements and business growth initiatives. Prioritizing candidates who have worked for carriers, ISPs, or fiber providers and can speak confidently about enterprise WAN / connectivity solutions, show revenue ownership mindset, not just technical delivery.
