Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Business Data Analyst specialized in Datacenter Infrastructure, Network Engineering, and Interconnection Management. In this role, you will bridge the gap between the network engineering teams, product management, and commercial partners. You will analyze complex data infrastructure, optimize interconnection strategies, and lead technical project management initiatives to scale our global datacenter footprint. Key Responsibilities include:

Interconnection & Network Analysis
-Strategy Optimization: Evaluate global network architecture, IP transit, peering relationships, and dark fiber assets to maximize performance.
-Capacity Planning: Analyze utilization trends across datacenters to forecast future interconnection requirements.
-Vendor Management: Review cross-connect, transport, network to identify cost-saving and optimization opportunities.

Project Management & Delivery
-Lifecycle Management: Lead cross-functional projects to deploy new network infrastructure and interconnection platforms from initiation to closure.
-Scope Definition: Translate complex technical network designs into clear business requirements, user stories, and execution roadmaps.
-Risk Mitigation: Identify project bottlenecks, manage dependencies, and coordinate technical change management windows with minimal downtime.

Data Metrics & Insights
-Metric Development: Design and track key performance indicators (KPIs)
-Data Visualization: Build automated dashboards using Power BI or Tableau to present network utilization and cost data to executives.
-Financial Analysis: Conduct data-driven cost-benefit analyses for capital expenditure (CapEx) and operational expenditure (OpEx) investments.

Required Skills & Experience

-7+ years of Business /Data Analyst with experience within datacenter, telecom, or internet infrastructure environments.
-Strong networking expertise, including OSI layers, BGP/peering, MPLS, DWDM, and cross-connect architecture
-Deep understanding of datacenter infrastructure (cabling, patch panels, vendors, operations) and how it supports scalable interconnection strategies
-Advanced data analysis capabilities, including large dataset manipulation with SQL and use of Python, R, or Excel for modeling and insights
-Proven experience translating complex data into strategic recommendations (focused on business needs vs. purely technical solutions)
-Early adopter of AI technologies, leveraging AI-driven solutions to improve efficiency and optimize data center and interconnection operations
-Ability to translate complex engineering concepts into business language for executive stakeholders.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

-Scripting skills – wont be writing the scripts themselves but need to understand the tools and how they can help
-PMP (Project Management Professional) or Agile Scrum Master (CSM).
-CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent foundational network industry certifications.
-API work in the past
