Job Description

An O&G Operator in Houston, TX is looking for a Project Scheduler to join their Project Services team. This role will be supporting the integrated planning and schedule control for offshore subsea, facilities, and major capital projects, including work in support of GOA operations. This role is a long-term contract role renewed on an annual basis. This role works a hybrid schedule (mon-thurs in office, friday remote) with half day Friday's.

The Project Scheduler supports integrated planning and schedule control for offshore subsea, facilities, and major capital projects, including work in support of GOA operations. The role is responsible for maintaining and continuously improving GOA Asset Schedules and applying disciplined planning practices, progress measurement, schedule analysis, and forecasting to support timely decisions and predictable execution.
This position reports to the Planning and Scheduling Lead within the Project Services organization and works closely with project teams, contractors, Operations, and functional stakeholders to build credible schedules, maintain data quality, identify schedule risks, and communicate progress, variances, and recovery options. The role is an individual contributor position that may coordinate planning inputs from contractors and discipline teams but does not carry formal people-management responsibility.

Key Deliverables:
· GOA Asset Schedule and Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) maintained with agreed WBS/coding, logic, calendars, progress measurement rules, milestones, and readiness visibility.
· Baseline package (Basis of Schedule, assumptions/constraints, milestones, and approval records) with change traceability.
· Status cycle outputs: schedule updates, look-ahead schedules, critical path and slippage analysis, and schedule narratives for governance.
· Schedule quality/health diagnostics and corrective-action log (e.g., open ends, constraints, unrealistic lags, logic breaks).
· Scenario and recovery schedules supporting mitigation plans, offshore campaign optimization, and decision support.
· Schedule risk analysis (when applicable): risk model inputs, run outputs, and confidence-level forecasts communicated to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
· Develop, update, and maintain integrated project schedules in Primavera P6 or equivalent, including WBS alignment, activity coding, calendars, logic ties, milestones, and progress measurement rules.
· Maintain and continuously improve GOA Asset Schedules by integrating project, operations, maintenance, and execution activities to improve visibility, milestone tracking, and readiness reporting.
· Support baseline development, approved schedule changes, and traceability between baseline, current, and forecast schedules.
· Integrate contractor, discipline, logistics, supply chain, and offshore execution inputs into the schedule, including long-lead procurement, fabrication readiness, marine spread sequencing, weather windows, SIMOPS, and key interface milestones.
· Collect progress updates, maintain look-ahead plans, track key milestones, identify slippage, and prepare concise schedule narratives and reporting packs for stakeholders and governance routines.
· Perform schedule quality checks, including logic integrity, open ends, constraints, critical path realism, and excessive leads/lags; support corrective actions to improve schedule health.
· Support schedule risk analysis, scenario planning, and recovery schedule development by providing inputs, assessing time impacts, and incorporating approved mitigation actions into forecasts.
· Coordinate planning inputs from project teams, Operations, contractors, discipline leads, and stakeholders; follow up on open actions and communicate constraints, risks, and recovery options clearly.
· Maintain schedule control artifacts, including basis of schedule, assumptions and constraints logs, action registers, review notes, change records, and closeout archives.
· Apply planning standards, templates, and schedule quality practices while supporting continuous improvement in scheduling processes, tools, and reporting routines.
