Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Warehouse / Tooling Manager for a growing utility construction operation. This individual will take ownership of warehouse and tooling operations, ensuring all materials, tools, and equipment are tracked, maintained, and ready to support field crews. The role is highly hands-on and ideal for someone who thrives in a build-out environment—establishing processes, organizing large volumes of tooling, and scaling operations to support upcoming substation and infrastructure projects. This person will partner closely with operations and field leadership to ensure efficiency, cost control, and safety while setting the foundation for long-term warehouse success.
• Oversee daily warehouse operations (receiving, storage, staging, issuing, returns)
• Manage inventory of tools, equipment, materials, and consumables
• Implement and enforce check-in/check-out processes
• Coordinate maintenance, calibration, and repairs of tools/equipment
• Track inventory accuracy, losses, and usage trends
• Support purchasing with reorder points and cost-effective sourcing
• Coordinate deliveries between warehouse, jobsites, and vendors
• Lead inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and safety standards
• Supervise warehouse personnel as team grows (starting solo → scaling to 4–5)
• Build warehouse organization and processes ahead of Jan 2027 ramp-up
• Generate reports on inventory, utilization, and operational performance

Required Skills & Experience
• 5+ years of warehouse, inventory, tooling, or equipment management experience
• Background in utility construction, heavy civil, electrical, telecom, or underground infrastructure
• Strong knowledge of inventory control, tool tracking, and accountability processes
• Experience supporting field crews with tools/materials in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to build and manage inventory systems (Excel required)
• Experience with PO tracking, pricing, and tool setup for crews
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Self-starter who can build processes from the ground up
• Understanding of safety practices in warehouse/material handling environments
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to obtain forklift certification
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Utility tooling experience (rubber goods, testing equipment, PPE, etc.)
• Experience with asset tracking systems (ERP, barcode, RFID)
• Rental equipment coordination and vendor management experience
• Familiarity with DOT/CDL requirements and fleet support
• Bilingual (based on workforce needs)
• Experience scaling warehouse operations/start-up environments
