Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Data Center Superintendent for a top AI infrastructure client. This individual will serve as the boots-on-the-ground leader responsible for executing large-scale, mission-critical data center construction projects. From early construction through commissioning and handoff, this role will own site operations, coordinate subcontractors and trades, and ensure safety, quality, and aggressive timelines are met. The ideal candidate brings hyperscale or critical infrastructure experience and thrives in high-ownership environments, helping deliver next-generation data centers that power advanced AI systems.

Day-to-Day:
• Oversee daily on-site construction operations from groundbreaking through commissioning and handoff
• Coordinate and manage trades, subcontractors, and general contractors
• Drive adherence to project schedule, milestones, and delivery timelines
• Enforce safety standards, compliance, and quality control across all site activities
• Manage site logistics, including materials staging, equipment coordination, and workforce planning
• Review and interpret construction drawings, specs, and RFIs, ensuring accurate execution
• Provide clear progress updates and reporting to stakeholders and leadership
• Support and oversee commissioning activities leading into operational turnover
• Identify and escalate risks, delays, and field issues, driving resolution in real time

Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of on-site construction experience on large-scale, mission-critical infrastructure projects
• Experience managing multiple subcontractors, general contractors (GCs), and union labor simultaneously
• Strong knowledge of building codes and safety standards (OSHA, NFPA, NEC)
• Ability to read and interpret complex structural, mechanical, and electrical drawings, specs, and RFIs
• Proven experience managing project schedules, site logistics, materials, and equipment coordination
• Strong communication and reporting skills with both internal stakeholders and external partners
• Ability to work onsite full-time in a high-paced construction environment
• Experience driving safety, quality, and schedule adherence on active build sites

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• 5+ years in hyperscale data center construction (50MW+ / $100M+ projects)
• Experience with commissioning phases (Level 3–5) through handoff to operations
• Background with hyperscalers or major operators (AWS, Meta, Google, Vantage, QTS, etc.)
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
• Familiarity with prefabrication/modular construction strategies
• Experience working in or adjacent to live, high-uptime environments
