Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Sr. Income Tax Manager for a client operating in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment. This individual will take full ownership of the company’s tax function, overseeing compliance, reviewing provisions, and acting as the primary liaison with external advisors. The ideal candidate is both technically strong and highly proactive—capable of anticipating issues, ensuring accuracy under tight deadlines, and communicating effectively with finance leadership. This role is critical to maintaining operational efficiency, avoiding costly errors, and driving tax strategy initiatives, making it an excellent opportunity for a high-performing “A-player” who thrives in ownership-driven roles.
Own tax accounting and compliance processes end-to-end
Review and validate tax provisions prepared by 3rd party (IFRS & U.S. GAAP)
Manage and improve relationship with 3rd party to ensure quality deliverables
Act as internal tax SME and advisor to finance leadership
Handle day-to-day tax operations:
State and federal tax matters
Tax credits (state & federal)
IRS notices and compliance items
Ensure timely, accurate filings and avoid penalties
Identify and communicate complex tax impacts (e.g., structural changes, impairments)
Support tax strategy and risk management initiatives
Provide data support to transfer pricing team

Required Skills & Experience

• Deep expertise in U.S. tax law (corporate environment)
• Proven ownership of tax accounting and compliance end-to-end
• Strong communication skills with leadership (proactive, no surprises)
• Highly organized with ability to manage multiple filings and deadlines simultaneously
• Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to take on both strategic and routine day-to-day tasks
• Experience reviewing tax provisions (IFRS and U.S. GAAP)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Background in Big 4 or large public accounting (or BDO, Grant Thornton, etc.)
• CPA or Master’s in Tax/Accounting
• Experience working with third-party advisors
• Exposure to transfer pricing
• Experience in private equity–backed environments
