Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Principal Data Scientist. This role focuses on building and delivering AI-driven solutions to improve decision-making across the supply chain. It combines data science, software engineering, and supply chain expertise to help leaders better understand and respond to disruptions, manufacturing challenges, and logistics issues. The position leverages SAP ECC data and modern analytics to create scenario-based models that allow teams to anticipate risks and make smarter, faster decisions. This is a hands-on technical role requiring strong coding skills, experience with machine learning and optimization, and the ability to turn complex supply chain problems into scalable AI solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s in Data Science, CS, Engineering, Math, or similar (Master’s preferred)
• Experience:
• 7+ years in data science, AI, analytics, or software development
• Manufacturing/industrial experience
• Built production-level analytics + integrated with enterprise systems
• Technical Skills:
• Programming: Python, SQL, Git (Java/C# + APIs preferred)
• Data Science: ML, statistical modeling, optimization, simulation
• AI: LLMs, RAG, vector DBs, knowledge graphs
• Cloud/Data: Azure, Databricks, Spark, data lakes/warehouses
• SAP:
• Strong SAP ECC 6.0 knowledge (MM, PP, SD, FI/CO, inventory, procurement, logistics)
