Job Description
A Credit Union is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join their high-performing Automation Team. This is an on-site role based in San Antonio, TX, supporting a digital banking transformation and growing automation infrastructure. The team runs a robust suite of 2,000+ automated web UI and mobile tests, and they need someone who can hit the ground running.
Primary Responsibilities
Investigate, troubleshoot, debug, and fix test failures across web UI automation suites
Review daily 8:30am automation summary reports and investigate failures from overnight ADO runs
Report site or system bugs and issues surfaced during daily automation runs to the broader team
Write new automated test cases for web UI and additional suites as proficiency grows
Contribute to mobile testing efforts using Appium-based frameworks (top priority in first 30–60 days)
Collaborate with team members on test strategy and scheduling
Evaluate and validate AI-generated code as they integrate GitHub Copilot into their workflow

Required Skills & Experience
3–5 years of SDET or QA Automation experience
Strong proficiency in C# (primary language) — Java or similar languages considered
Hands-on experience with Selenium — writing, maintaining, and debugging test scripts
Experience with Playwright (newly added to the stack — high priority)
Proficiency in TypeScript
Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles
Comprehensive knowledge of the Page Object Model (POM) design pattern
Familiarity with NUnit assertions or similar testing libraries
Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) for CI/CD pipeline integration
Proficiency with Git-based version control
Working knowledge of SQL databases
Good understanding of HTML and CSS
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
-Mobile testing experience with Appium or similar frameworks (strongly preferred — first 30–60 day priority)
Experience with Ready API for API regression testing
Familiarity with JMeter for performance testing
Experience with Automation 360 or similar RPA tools
GitHub Copilot familiarity or experience validating AI-generated code
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
Excellent written and oral communication skills — ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences
