Insight Global is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer for a top industrial technology client. This individual will serve as a technical leader within embedded electronics, driving innovation, setting engineering standards, and mentoring engineers across the organization. The role focuses on system-level hardware development, cross-functional collaboration, and long-term platform scalability, with a strong runway into future engineering management.
Day-to-Day:
Design and review electronic hardware components and architectures
Set design standards and best practices for the EE team
Lead system-level integration and technical roadmaps
Mentor and guide engineers through design reviews and development
Collaborate with global software, mechanical, systems, and manufacturing teams
Support NPI efforts and manufacturing integration
Act as a technical authority and future people leader

Required Skills & Experience
Must-Haves:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (Master’s preferred)
8+ years of experience in electronic hardware design and development
Strong system-level knowledge of embedded hardware architectures and integration
Experience designing and reviewing schematics and electronic components
Ability to lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis across HW/SW/PCB interactions
Proven leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Experience working with safety, regulatory, and certification standards (EMC, UL, PCI)
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Plusses:
Experience with PCB tools (Altium, OrCAD, or similar)
SolidWorks experience for electro-mechanical integration
Microcontroller programming (C)
Experience with SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, USB protocols
Knowledge of PCB manufacturing for volume production
Background in DFX, DFSS, FAST, or similar methodologies
