Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Paralegal to support specialty application and certification processes within a professional licensing organization. This role is responsible for managing applications, coordinating board certification examinations, maintaining internal databases, and supporting document review and written communications. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, highly organized, responsive, and thrives in a structured, professional environment that values accuracy, discretion, and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
• Process and manage applications for candidates in designated specialty areas, ensuring compliance with established standards and requirements
• Coordinate and assemble board certification examinations for licensed professionals
○ Support candidates who have held professional licensure for at least five years
○ Assist with exam materials and processes that allow candidates to earn board certification within a specific specialty
• Maintain and update internal databases tracking applicants, certified members, and internal stakeholders
• Utilize Microsoft Excel extensively for data tracking, reporting, and application management
• Support the organization during a transition between internal database systems
• Assist with initiatives related to upcoming website redesign and system modernization
• Review, redline, and edit legal and professional documents with a high degree of accuracy
• Draft, revise, and proofread written communications and formal documentation
• Communicate professionally with applicants, internal team members, and external stakeholders
- Manage multiple deadlines while maintaining strong attention to detail and organization

Required Skills & Experience
• 5+ years of professional work experience in a legal, regulatory, certification, or similarly structured professional environment
• Associate’s degree required with strong, relevant experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Very strong researching and writing skills
• Highly organized, dependable, polite, and responsive with a strong work ethic
• Comfortable working in a formal office environment that requires professionalism and accountability
- Not an entry‑level role; candidates must have real‑world experience and demonstrate an ability to succeed in a professional setting without extensive oversight
