Job Description

This is a multi-functional role dealing with diverse engineering needs, including the ability to gather requirements, generate specification documents, interface with contract manufacturers and internal personnel to create custom mechanical designs needed for the system. The role will include:

Generating custom mechanical drawings and designs and Bill of Materials

Designing/modeling /prototyping mechanical system components for test and measurement solutions

Traveling as needed (possibly up to 25%) domestically and abroad in support of project objectives

Required Skills & Experience

BS Degree: in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics

Minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience in a Mechanical Drafting Role

Highly proficient with 3 to 5 years of experience in CREO

Thorough understanding of fundamental mechanical design principles and processes

In-depth knowledge of 2D & 3D design tools i.e. CREO, Pro/E, SolidWorks

Proficient with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles

Excellent oral and written communication skills

History of generating detailed drawings and design documentation

Successful history of working with external suppliers

US Person (US Citizen or Green Card ) ONLY, ability to work on ITAR projects and qualify for DoD Clearances

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Familiar with fixture and tool design

Familiar with thermal analysis and stress analysis

Knowledge of FMEA and RCCA methodologies

Knowledge of fabrication techniques, (machining, stamping, extrusion, casting, sheet metal layout, etc.)

Knowledge of ESD principles

Basic knowledge of electrical design principles i.e. grounding, shielding, cable design

Demonstrated ability to:

Be detail-oriented, have a strong understanding of building processes, and possess excellent technical drafting skills
