Job Description
This role is focused on restoring, stabilizing, and operating large industrial generator engines, including older equipment that requires systematic recommissioning.
You will work directly on multi-megawatt generator systems in a field environment, ensuring reliable operation from initial startup through full-load performance.
Responsibilities
Perform full engine teardown, inspection, rebuild, and reassembly for large industrial
engines
Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical and system-level issues on-site
Bring engines from unstable condition to reliable continuous operation (diesel → gas
transition)
Execute commissioning and recommissioning processes for generator units
Perform maintenance on fuel systems, lubrication systems, cooling systems, and air
systems
Support startup, load testing, and operational stabilization of generator units
Identify root causes of failures (E-STOP, shutdowns, instability, etc.) and resolve them
Work with engines such as Fairbanks Morse, Waukesha, CAT, Cummins, and similar
platforms

Required Skills & Experience
Strong hands-on experience with diesel and/or natural gas engines
Proven experience in full engine rebuild (teardown, inspection, reassembly)
Ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex mechanical issues
Experience working with large industrial or power generation equipment
Familiarity with troubleshooting older or legacy equipment is highly preferred
Background in oil & gas, power generation, or heavy industry
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience with Fairbanks Morse (OP engines), Waukesha, CAT, Cummins
Experience with multi-MW generator systems
Welding, fabrication, or machining skills
Experience with commissioning or recommissioning projects
