Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join their client supporting a wide array of federal construction projects. This is a fully remote role with some travel requirements to various construction sites across the domestic United States. In this role you will:

▪ Collaborate with Director of Preconstruction and other team members in estimating functions throughout preconstruction phase launch process.
▪ Performs quantity take-offs.
▪ Assists in the pricing and bidding of construction projects.
▪ Develops and documents logical assumptions during conceptual estimating activities and applies these assumptions to takeoff tasks. ▪ Communicate with architects and owners to clarify scope of work, materials, and schedule requirements, and document these clarifications.
▪ Conducts reviews of milestone documents for the development and pricing of value alternative opportunities.
▪ Actively participates in the internal estimate review process.
▪ Assists with final assembly of estimate for presentation to owner.
▪ After the bid, collect and organize all bid information for future reference.
▪ Aids field operations with change order pricing if needed.
▪ Directs, coordinates and provides information and documents to subcontractors.
▪ Prepares contractual exhibits for scope of work for subcontracts.
▪ Participates in hard bid/estimating and GMP budgeting activities by soliciting subcontractor support and evaluating bids

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelors degree or 5+ years of relevant federal estimating experience
- Demonstrated understanding of estimating processes and procedures.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management and lump sum estimating practices and methods, including demonstrated ability to organize, direct, perform, review and present cost estimating products with minimum supervision.
- In-depth knowledge of project schedules and ability to anticipate/extrapolate cost curves based on experience of scheduled activities/cost correlation
- Proficient in Microsoft and scheduling software; - Primavera, Procore, etc.
- General knowledge of negotiated bids, hard bids, and GMP processes.
