Job Description

The Senior Environmental Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring company operations comply with all applicable environmental regulations. This role supports field operations, manages spill response and remediation, oversees regulatory reporting, and leads compliance programs across multiple facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., Environmental Protection Agency, Texas Railroad Commission, New Mexico Oil Conservation Division)
• Manage spill response, remediation, and closure reporting
• Oversee SPCC program implementation and 5-year reviews (40 CFR Part 112)
• Coordinate regulatory inspections and audits (RRC CID, state agencies)
• Prepare and submit regulatory reports, notifications, and permits
• Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses
• Support LDAR and air compliance efforts (OOOOb, state rules)
• Coordinate environmental sampling (soil, water) and interpret lab data
• Maintain compliance documentation and records
• Provide environmental training to field personnel
• Interface with operations, contractors, and regulators

Required Skills & Experience

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
• 5–10+ years of environmental compliance experience (oil & gas preferred)
• Knowledge of SPCC, RCRA, Clean Water Act, and state regulations
• Experience with spill response and remediation
