Key Responsibilities
Cost Management
Execute and maintain a comprehensive cost management program for large commercial construction projects
Track project costs, develop forecasts, and support cost control and cost reduction initiatives
Perform cost trending and variance analysis to identify deviations between budgeted and actual costs
Analyze historical project data to develop benchmarks and trends for current and future projects
Change Management
Support the Project Change Management process on fast-tracked, multi-interface projects
Assist with both internal and external change management related to cost and schedule impacts
Evaluate and quantify the financial impact of scope changes, contract amendments, and variations
Review cost implications of change orders and support negotiations with contractors and suppliers
Budgeting & Forecasting
Prepare regular project cost forecasts to ensure alignment with overall financial objectives
Maintain rolling forecasts for active projects and identify potential cost overruns or savings
Provide recommendations and mitigation strategies based on cost data and trend analysis
Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure budgets are actively managed and controlled
Variance Analysis
Monitor actual costs versus approved budgets
Investigate variances and provide actionable insights and recommendations for corrective action
Performance Metrics & Reporting
Track key cost and financial KPIs and deliver weekly and monthly reporting packages
Develop and maintain a structured cost reporting cadence, including executive-level presentations
Communicate cost trends, risks, and opportunities to project teams and senior leadership
Compliance
Ensure compliance with internal financial controls, reporting standards, and applicable regulations
Continuous Improvement
Stay current on industry best practices and cost management tools
Identify opportunities to improve cost control processes, reporting efficiency, and data accuracy
General Support
Support a high volume of day-to-day deliverables, including cost reporting, change management, and system updates
Work extensively within the organization’s internal cost management tools

Advanced Excel user with the ability to build and interpret complex/compound formulas and summarize large data sets
Strong ability to perform repetitive, detail-oriented tasks accurately
Experience using Power BI dashboards to report financial and cost data to executive leadership
Ability to create and maintain Excel workbooks while internal systems are under development or evolving
Assist with change orders and budget adjustments within an in-house cost management system
Review and audit contractor invoices, coordinating with internal teams and third-party vendors for cost tracking and reconciliation
Partner with Project Managers and project teams to track performance against budget and schedule and produce regular reporting
Use procurement and cost management data to maintain spend curves and cash flow / drawdown forecasts
Agile, flexible, and open-minded; comfortable in fast-paced project environments
Owner’s Representative experience strongly preferred
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, Project Management, Construction Management, or equivalent large-scale project experience
5+ years of experience in cost management, budgeting, and forecast analysis
Experience supporting large commercial or industrial construction projects (data centers, manufacturing, life sciences, logistics, etc.)
Strong understanding of cost control processes and cost structures on large EPC or design-build projects
