Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a EDA Infrastructure Engineer that will be working on site in Austin, TX and support a public-private partnership of preeminent semiconductor systems and defense electronics companies, national labs, and academic institutions. Their mission is to advance the state-of-the-art in critical semiconductor domains such as advanced packaging, and in the process to help restore U.S. leadership in semiconductor manufacturing. They are developing cutting-edge semiconductor manufacturing equipment and processes that will define future roadmaps of semiconductor logic, memory, heterogenous integration, chip cooling, etc. They are Backed by $1.4 billion in combined funding from DARPA, Texas state initiatives, and strategic partners, they are building foundational capabilities in advanced packaging and integrated design infrastructure to restore U.S. leadership in microelectronics manufacturing.

We are looking for an EDA Infrastructure Engineer to own and evolve the EDA compute + tooling infrastructure while partnering with design teams to deliver robust, repeatable methodology for physical verification (PV) and signoff. You will build the platforms, automation, and guardrails that enable engineers to run scalable regressions (DRC/LVS/ERC/antenna and advanced PV checks) and complete signoff milestones predictably, with strong visibility into runtime, QoR, and resource utilization.

Key Responsibilities
1) EDA Methodology & Flow Enablement (RTL-to-Signoff)
Define, implement, and continuously improve EDA execution methodology from early enablement (“shift-left”) through final signoff, emphasizing repeatability, traceability, and regression quality.
Build and maintain automation frameworks for flow orchestration (build/test/run), artifact tracking, regression triage, and one-click reproducible runs.
Establish methodology standards (guidelines, checklists, milestone criteria, waiver strategy) to ensure consistent PV and signoff execution across projects/nodes.

2) Physical Verification (PV) Infrastructure & Support
Develop, maintain, and support PV flows across projects, spanning early design through signoff: DRC, LVS, ERC, antenna, and advanced reliability-focused checks where applicable.
Drive PV flow robustness: runtime scalability, deck/runset integration, debug tooling, waiver correctness, and cross-tool issue resolution with EDA vendors and internal stakeholders. [qatestingjobs.com], [campusbuilding.com]
Partner with Physical Design and Technology/PDK teams to validate PV flows and support node/design-kit enablement.

3) Signoff Enablement (Infrastructure + Execution Readiness)
Enable and operationalize signoff readiness by supporting infrastructure and automation for PV and adjacent signoff disciplines (as required by the organization), ensuring compute/queue/policy and licensing are aligned to milestone demands.
Provide “production-grade” infrastructure support to reduce time-to-results and improve predictability for signoff gates.

Experience working with Signoff Enablement
Strong Linux systems administration in EDA environments
Experience operating EDA license servers including monitoring, triage, and usage optimization.
Strong scripting/programming for automation
Demonstrated experience supporting physical verification flows and debugging PV failures (DRC/LVS/ERC/antenna).
BS/MS in EE/CE/CS (or equivalent practical experience).
