Job Description
We have an insurance customer looking for a Director & Actuary who can help support their business growth. This person needs to be looking to sit 5 days/week onsite in downtown Houston, TX, Des Moines, IA, or New York City. This person will be responsible for the rate setting process & own the pricing work. They will perform and communicate complex actuarial analyses and regularly present findings to senior leadership, consultants, reinsurers, and regulators. This role will also support ad hoc pricing for M&A and strategic initiatives, all while ensuring work aligns with SOA standards. This person will be an independent contributor responsible for competitive benchmarking, interaction & engagement with reinsurance counterparts, and getting buy-in from leadership stakeholders. This is a senior role requiring 7+ years experience. Seeking a salary range of $126,000 to $195,000.

Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field with a strong quantitative foundation.
Fellowship designation (FSA or equivalent); relevant experience may be considered in lieu of fellowship.
Demonstrated proficiency in applying actuarial principles and standards.
7+ years experience
Familiarity with modeling (preferably GGY Axis)
Strong experience in rate setting and reinsurance pricing for annuity products
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience with retail annuity and PRT products in US, UK and APAC regions
Familiarity with MG Alpha
