Job Description
A client of Insight Global is seeking a Production Manager to lead day‑to‑day operations for the legacy rooftop air conditioner division in Longview. This role oversees roughly 400 employees and two Assistant Production Managers, driving throughput, safety, quality, and overall operational performance. The Production Manager is a hands‑on leader with a strong floor presence, partnering closely with engineering, quality, maintenance, and supply chain to meet production goals.

Required Skills & Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations, business, or related field (this they can be flexible on for the right experience -- they have tuition reimbursement and can work with them)
* Consistent career progression inside of their company (LONG tenure and progression within companies)
* 10+ years of manufacturing experience in tier 1 automotive or aerospace mature industries (not OEM's like Ford or Toyota -- these are companies that supply parts directly to OEM's such as Magna International or Yanfeng Automotive Interiors)
* At least 7 years of strong leadership experience managing large teams in a plant setting
* Hands‑on operations leadership with comfort being on the production floor daily
* Lean Manufacturing expertise required (six sigma, black belt)
* Experience facilitating workshops, improvement events, and structured problem‑solving activities (Kaizen, Gemba, PDCA, A3, and DMAIC)
* Be able to explain how they fully owned and drove Kaizen events. How they guided their teams and streamlined the entire process, what the results were, etc.
* Experience driving throughput, labor efficiency, and production KPIs
* Ability to lead and develop frontline supervisors and hourly teams
* Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to identify bottlenecks, operational gaps, and improvement opportunities
* Experience managing safety, quality, delivery, and cost metrics
* Strong communication and relationship‑building skills across operations, engineering, and plant leadership
* Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑change environment with evolving priorities
