Job Description
The Americas Field Service Electrical / Controls Engineer is responsible for commissioning, upgrading, testing, and supporting high-voltage electrical and control systems at customer sites across the Americas and internationally. This role requires strong technical expertise, the ability to work independently in the field, and flexibility to support offshore and overseas assignments. This role pays up to $50/hr depending on relevant experience.
Key Responsibilities
Commission high-voltage generators, motors, synchronous condensers, power management systems (PMS), electrical protection systems, excitation controllers (AVRs), and synchronizing equipment.
Perform upgrades to AVRs, PMS systems, synchronizers, protection relays, and other electrical and control system components.
Conduct electrical testing on high- and low-voltage equipment, including machine windings, in field environments.
Deliver technical training on Brush Power Generation products to customers and internal field service colleagues.
Interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, specifications, and engineering requirements.
Attend and participate in technical meetings at customer sites and company locations.
Prepare method statements and risk assessments as required for client sites.
Support mechanical service engineers on assignments, including tasks that may not be electrically focused.

Required Skills & Experience
- Experience with commissioning, start ups, and supporting ABB and Siemens electric motors and VFD's
- Experience troubleshooting electrical, controls, and drive system issues
- Ability to read electrical schematics, diagrams, and OEM documentation
Ability to document commissioning activities
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience with Rockwell, Allen Bradley, Schneider, or Danfoss
Experience with Siemens PLC's or industrial controls
