Job Description

The Incentive Compensation Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the clients Sales Operations team by managing and optimizing sales incentive programs. This position is responsible for administering commission systems, ensuring accurate and timely compensation payouts. The analyst will work cross-functionally with HR, Payroll, Accounting, Finance and Sales to maintain data integrity and streamline compensation processes. A strong understanding of SPM tools (such as Xactly Incent, Spiff, Varicent, CaptivateIQ, etc.), CRM (Salesforce), and Excel is essential, along with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement. The sales representatives they are supporting come from two business units- Neuromodulation & cardio pulmonary. Majority of this role will be working more on backend administrative work, but will occasionally deal directly with sales reps if they have questions about goals & metrics, what incentive compensation looks like, running reports on different trends in the market, competitive analysis and tracking performance. The team they will be joining is five people total, and they support the hundreds of sales reps spread out across the country, however they are the only individual in this specific role.. This role sits in the Sales Operations organization. Report into the manager of Sales Compensation.

Key Responsibilities – Other duties may be assigned
• Serve as a Sales Performance Management (SPM) system administrator. Responsibilities include system configuration, report design, sales compensation plan testing and validation, financial accruals, and payroll file preparation.
• Configure and maintain sales compensation plans, ensuring accurate commission calculations and timely payout cycles (monthly, quarterly, and annually).
• Manage system setups for new hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations, in coordination with HR, Payroll, and Sales Operations.
• Understand incentive compensation packages
• Resolve inquiries related to quotas, territories, credits, and payouts from the Sales team with speed and accuracy.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and analytics to monitor performance and compensation metrics.
• Build and maintain process documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to support future scalability.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and recommending workflow optimizations, automation opportunities, and user experience enhancements.
• Streamline compensation workflows and tools to reduce manual effort, improve reliability, and enhance operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with Accounting and Payroll teams to ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual variable compensation payments are calculated, accrued, communicated, and processed accurately and on time.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Finance, Accounting, HR, or equivalent professional experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, PowerQuery, and data analytics.
• Five or more years of experience in compensation, sales operations, and/or sales commissions.
• Three or more years of hands-on experience managing and implementing Salesforce or other SPM tools (such as Xactly Incent, Varicent, CaptivateIQ, Spiff, etc.).
• Proficiency in organizing, summarizing, and analyzing large data sets.
• Ability to create elegant, efficient, and effective compensation and financial models, budgets, reports, and presentations.
• Experience administering sales commission plans.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience with Workday.
• Experience with Qlik, Cognos, and Power BI.
• Formal SPM certification and demonstrated ability to program and deploy complex compensation logic.
