Job Description

Early Childhood Assistant Director
Location: Red Oak, TX
Salary: $45,000–$55,000 annually
Schedule: Full-Time
Start Date: ASAP
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Early Childhood Assistant Director to support the daily operations of a licensed early learning center serving Infants through Pre‑K. This individual will work closely with the Director to help oversee staff, curriculum implementation, licensing compliance, and overall center operations while ensuring a safe, organized, and high‑quality learning environment.
This role is ideal for a strong early childhood leader who excels in organization, staff support, and compliance while maintaining a hands‑on approach to classroom and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities
Center Operations & Compliance
• Assist in managing daily center operations in compliance with all state licensing, safety, and sanitation regulations
• Support accurate and timely completion of licensing documentation, personal statements, and required forms
• Maintain organized back‑office files, documentation, and operational checklists
• Ensure the facility remains clean, safe, and well‑organized at all times
Staff Leadership & Support
• Assist with staff onboarding, training, interviewing, and hiring processes
• Support and coach teaching staff using strong soft skills, accountability, and leadership
• Help monitor classroom performance and provide guidance as needed
• Foster a positive, professional, and collaborative team culture
Curriculum & Program Support
• Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of curriculum for Infants through Pre‑K
• Ensure curriculum aligns with licensing standards and center expectations
• Assist with classroom oversight and age‑appropriate programming
Administrative & Time Management
• Help manage deadlines, documentation, and competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment
• Assist the Director with operational projects and day‑to‑day administrative needs
• Balance compliance, curriculum, and staff support responsibilities effectively

Required Skills & Experience

Required Qualifications
• Minimum 6 years of experience in early childhood setting
(8–10 years of total experience preferred)
• Hands‑on background working with Infants through Pre‑K
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
• Pediatric CPR Certification
• Experience in recreational leadership or management
• Strong organizational, administrative, and operational skills
• Proven ability to multitask, manage priorities, and meet deadlines
