Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Financial Project Analyst who will partner directly with engineers, project managers, and field supervisors to support the financial planning, cost control, and execution of capital construction projects for a utilities company in El Paso, Texas. This is a project‑focused finance role, not traditional accounting. The analyst serves as a financial right hand to engineering teams, translating project activity into accurate budgets, forecasts, and actionable insights. The annual salary for this role is 61,000-122,500 based on the candidates years of experience.
DAY TO DAY
Develop, track, and reforecast capital and O&M project budgets
Build and maintain project cash flow forecasts aligned to schedules and milestones
Analyze and explain budget‑to‑actual variances
Support work orders, funding approvals, and project close‑out documentation
Assist with business cases and project alternative analysis
Partner daily with engineering and field teams to support cost control and reporting
Support documentation for regulatory filings and data requests
Improve financial templates and processes to increase efficiency and accuracy

Required Skills & Experience
Experience supporting capital projects in:
Utilities, water, gas, or construction/infrastructure environments
Strong analytical skills with the ability to partner cross‑functionally
Proficiency in Excel and comfort working with large datasets
Proficiency in Oracle
Familiarity with work management systems (e.g., MAXIMO or similar)
Understanding of project budgeting, cash flow timing, and cost controls
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience with Primavera P6 or other project scheduling tools
Exposure to utility or infrastructure regulatory environments
