Job Description
An Insight Global oil and gas client is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join their Casing Equipment Technology team in Houston, TX. This role supports the design, development, and sustainment of downhole casing equipment used in cementing and well construction operations. The engineer will work on both individual and team-based projects, contributing to new product development from concept through production while solving complex mechanical and manufacturing challenges in a high-impact commercial market.
Targeted Pay Rate: $45/hr -$60/hr

Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
Experience or strong interest in mechanical system design, manufacturing processes, and field-implemented solutions
Proficiency with 3D modeling tools such as SolidWorks (or similar CAD software)
Experience creating engineering drawings and supporting product lifecycle management (PLM) systems
Ability to perform engineering analysis, including standard calculations and more advanced methods (e.g., FEA)
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and product teams
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience with FEA and/or CFD tools and applying physics-based principles (statics, dynamics, etc.)
Background designing or testing downhole tools, especially casing attachments, cementing, or completion tools
Knowledge of API standards (API 10F, 11D1, API 19OH), particularly in HP/HT environments
Experience with elastomers, seals, or composite materials in downhole applications
Hands-on experience assembling and testing tools under high-pressure and high-temperature conditions
Exposure to reliability, HSE, or quality analysis techniques
Experience contributing to patents, invention disclosures, or technical publications
