Insight Global is looking for a Sr. Facility Engineer (UPW) to work on site in Austin, TX and support the strategy and introduction of products based on unique and highly differentiated capabilities of a preeminent foundry for semiconductor systems and defense electronics companies. Their mission is to advance the state-of-the-art in critical semiconductor domains such as advanced packaging, and in the process to help restore U.S. leadership in semiconductor manufacturing. They are developing cutting-edge semiconductor manufacturing technology that will define future roadmaps of semiconductor devices including logic, memory, 3D packaged devices, including thermal management, etc.
An Ultrapure Water (UPW) Sr. Facility Engineer is responsible for designing, upgrading, and implementing high-purity water systems, primarily within semiconductor fabrication plants (fabs) or advanced manufacturing facilities. This role involves managing the entire project lifecycle, from conceptual design and vendor collaboration to construction oversight, commissioning, and final operations.
Responsibilities:
Develop and review P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), equipment specifications, and facility layouts for new, high-volume manufacturing fabs or retrofit projects.
Conduct capacity planning, troubleshooting, and implement technology upgrades to improve system reliability, efficiency, and water quality.
Support construction activities, including equipment installation, startup, and validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) of UPW systems.
Use Building Information Modeling (BIM/Revit) for design coordination with other facility disciplines like chemical waste, process cooling water, and gas systems.
Implement water recycling, reclaim, and zero-liquid discharge systems in alignment with corporate sustainability goals

Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
5 + years of experience in UPW facilities engineering, preferably within semiconductor, high-tech manufacturing, or EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) environments.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit/BIM tools, and MS Office. Strong knowledge of water treatment technologies (RO, EDI, DI).
Experience in semiconductor fab or cleanroom facility design.
