Job Description

We are seeking a Polymer Laboratory Technician that will support the development, testing, and production of polymer‑based materials through hands‑on laboratory work and collaboration with multiple departments. Key responsibilities include preparing and testing polymer formulations, operating laboratory and processing equipment, and documenting and interpreting test results. The position also contributes to production‑scale trials, evaluates raw and competitive materials, and helps maintain reliable test methods and laboratory equipment. Cross‑functional teamwork is essential, as the role assists manufacturing, quality, and other internal teams with troubleshooting, customer concerns, and new product launches. Additional responsibilities include ensuring products meet specifications, maintaining accurate records, producing status reports, and performing general lab upkeep and other assigned tasks.
This is a full time opportunity and this person must report onsite 5 days per week.
Salary: $70,000

Required Skills & Experience

Associate degree or higher in a relevant technical field such as chemistry, biology/biochemistry, physics, engineering, materials science, polymer science, plastics processing, or chemical manufacturing.

Hands‑on laboratory experience in analytical testing, physical testing, or quality control methods.

Working knowledge of physical chemistry techniques, including spectroscopy, calorimetry, or other material characterization methods.

Familiarity with standard testing methods (ASTM, ISO, or similar).

Understanding of statistical tools, including design of experiments (DOE) and analysis of variance (ANOVA).

Experience with polymer additives or modifying polymer systems.

Background in manufacturing operations or direct experience working with processing equipment on the shop floor.

Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.

Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.

Strong organizational habits with excellent time‑management capabilities.

High attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
