Job Description

Insight Global is looking to hire a Lead SCADA Developer for an oil/gas customer in Midland, TX. The ideal candidate has experience in industrial automation, including system integration, PLC programming, and data management using scripting and databases. You’ll design, implement, and support SCADA solutions that improve reliability and efficiency across operations. The position requires someone who can solve problems independently, navigate ambiguity, and build processes from the ground up. Experience with modern SCADA tools, cloud‑based solutions, IoT connectivity, or industrial process environments is a plus. This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone ready to own and grow internal SCADA capabilities.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, Automation Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
3-5 years of experience in industrial automation or SCADA system integration
Experience with Kepware OPC server configuration and integration for industrial communication
Experience with PLC programming
Proficiency in Python scripting and SQL database management

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Ignition Gold or Enterprise Certification.
Experience with cloud-based SCADA solutions and IoT integration.
Familiarity with other SCADA platforms (e.g., Wonderware, FactoryTalk, etc.) for hybrid system integration.
Knowledge of industrial process control in sectors such as manufacturing, oil and gas, water treatment, or energy.
