Job Description

The New Car Director is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational execution, and financial performance of the New Vehicle Department at Huffines CJDR Plano. This role owns volume, gross, inventory management, manufacturer relations, and team development while upholding Huffines’ commitment to transparent, ethical, and customer-centric retailing.
The New Car Director is expected to drive sales growth and profitability without the use of addendums, hidden fees, forced products, misleading advertising, or any form of deceptive sales practices. Success in this role requires disciplined process, strong people leadership, data-driven decision-making, and a long-term view of brand trust and market reputation.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Financial Performance

• Own all New Vehicle Department KPIs, including unit volume, front-end gross, days supply, turn rate, and market share.
• Drive consistent, sustainable sales growth through pricing discipline, inventory strategy, and process execution rather than short-term gimmicks or artificial margin tactics.
• Ensure pricing and advertised offers are clear, accurate, and fully compliant with federal, state, and manufacturer guidelines.
• Develop and execute monthly and quarterly sales strategies aligned with store-wide financial objectives.
Ethical Retailing & Customer Experience
• Maintain a zero-tolerance standard for deceptive practices, including but not limited to undisclosed addendums, bait-and-switch advertising, payment packing, or misrepresentation of vehicle availability or pricing.
• Build a culture where transparency, repeat business, and long-term customer relationships are prioritized over short-term gross.
• Partner with Sales Managers and F&I leadership to ensure a seamless, honest, and professional customer journey.

Inventory & Market Management

• Manage new-vehicle inventory mix, allocation strategy, and ordering to optimize turn and minimize aging.
• Use market data, OEM tools, and competitive analysis to price vehicles intelligently without eroding brand trust.
• Coordinate closely with the General Manager and OEM representatives to maximize allocation opportunities and incentive programs.

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead, coach, and hold accountable New Vehicle Sales Managers and sales staff.
• Establish clear expectations, performance metrics, and coaching cadences.
• Recruit, develop, and retain high-caliber talent aligned with Huffines’ values and standards.
• Foster a culture of professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Cross-Department Collaboration
• Work collaboratively with Used Car, Finance, Fixed Operations, and Marketing to ensure alignment on pricing, promotions, and customer messaging.
• Support dealership-wide initiatives and contribute to broader Huffines Automotive strategic objectives.
