Network Connex is hiring a Project Manager to support Fiber Splicing Operations for one of the largest data center projects in the world, located in Abilene, Texas.
They are responsible for the planning, coordination, execution, and quality assurance of all fiber splicing activities on a large-scale data center construction site. This role ensures that all fiber installation, testing, and documentation meet strict data center standards for performance, reliability, and uptime. The Project Manager will lead a team of fiber splicing technicians, subcontractors, and integrators to deliver all optical networking infrastructure on schedule and within scope.

Required Skills & Experience
Responsibilities
• Oversee day-to-day activities of fiber splicing technicians, including scheduling, task assignments, QA, and safety compliance.
• Coordinate with general contractors, electrical contractors, network engineering teams, and client site representatives to align fiber installation with overall construction milestones.
• Manage multiple work fronts, ensuring splicing teams have materials, work areas, and permissions needed to execute tasks effectively.

Qualifications
• 3–7+ years of experience managing fiber splicing or telecommunications infrastructure projects.
• Hands-on experience with fusion splicing, fiber testing, OTDR, and troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of structured cabling standards (TIA-568, BICSI), fiber network architectures, and data center infrastructure.
• Proven ability to manage field teams in a construction environment.
• Experience in mission-critical or hyperscale data center construction preferred.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to read construction drawings, fiber routing plans, and network diagrams.
