Job Description
Insight Global is assisting a client in identifying a Senior Systems Engineer for a technical role focused on MS365 collaboration and infrastructure. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in hands-on environments, enjoys mentoring others, and can manage complex migrations and configurations across Exchange, OneDrive, and Teams. You’ll work closely with IT teams and business units to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable solutions, supporting users from planning through troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, implement, and configure Exchange Online environments, including mailbox setup, migrations, and hybrid configurations
• Manage user mailboxes, distribution groups, shared mailboxes, and resource mailboxes
• Administer security features (anti-phishing, anti-spam, malware protection) and compliance tools (retention policies, eDiscovery, DLP)
• Monitor system health and performance, troubleshoot mail flow and connectivity issues, and resolve service incidents
• Provide technical support and mentoring to end-users and junior engineers
• Plan and execute migrations for Exchange, OneDrive, and domain changes, ensuring minimal disruption and data integrity
• Integrate MS365 services (Exchange, Teams, OneDrive) and third-party applications as needed
• Utilize PowerShell and automation tools to streamline administrative tasks and enforce policies
• Oversee OneDrive storage quotas, access controls, and security policies; respond to security incidents
• Plan, deploy, and configure Microsoft Teams environments, manage users/groups/channels, and maintain system health
• Implement and manage security protocols, data governance, and compliance policies for Teams and OneDrive
• Maintain thorough documentation of configurations, procedures, troubleshooting steps, and change management activities
• Collaborate with IT teams, business units, and external partners to align MS365 capabilities with organizational goals
• Occasional travel (up to 10%) may be required; most work is performed remotely or onsite as needed

Required Skills & Experience
• 5+ years as a subject matter expert in MS365, with deep experience in Exchange, OneDrive, and Teams
• Strong background in configuration, security management, and monitoring within MS365 environments
• Hands-on expertise in PowerShell scripting, Exchange administration, and automation tools
• Proven ability to manage Exchange Online, OneDrive, and MS Teams end-to-end (planning, configuration, troubleshooting, user support)
• Experience performing migrations (Exchange, OneDrive, domain changes) and conditional access management
• Excellent documentation skills for procedures, configurations, and change management
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience
• Willingness to provide full user support and resolve complex technical issues
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience with SharePoint and Rubrik
• Microsoft and Azure certifications
• Familiarity with Power Automate and workflow automation
• Knowledge of hybrid Exchange environments and third-party integrations
• Experience developing training materials and mentoring junior staff
