PRN Registered Nurse

• Covers nurse desk responsibilities including patient calls, triage messages, refills, scheduling, and coordination with providers.
• Assists with direct RN duties as needed, including symptom assessment, triage, and clinical follow‑up.
• Provides chemotherapy education from start to finish, ensuring patients understand treatment expectations, side effects, and when to reach out for help.
• Reinforces ongoing education throughout the patient’s treatment journey.
• Supports clinic flow by communicating with MAs, RNs, infusion teams, and providers.
• Floats between departments as training progresses, starting in one area and expanding coverage as needed.
• Provides backup coverage for full‑time clinic nurses during absences or high‑volume periods.
• Documents patient interactions and communication accurately in the EMR.
• Meets a 24‑hour monthly minimum with flexible PRN scheduling.

• Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred
• Minimum 2-3 year of RN experience.
• Current RN state license with the State Board of Nursing in Texas.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

• Previous outpatient experience
Oncology experience
