Job Description

About the Company - Insight Global is seeking a Power Field Services Technician to join our client in the Houston and surrounding area. At this organization, our engineers and technicians specialize in electrical acceptance testing, commissioning, and maintenance testing for a wide range of clients including Utility, Generation, Industrial, and Commercial Facilities. We perform all testing in accordance with NETA/ANSI standards. We are committed to providing a culture of safety and technical expertise in the Power Industry. We are looking to grow our team.

Focus on Substations, Power Services, protective relays

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, commissioning, testing and maintenance on low and medium voltage distribution equipment and substations.- Breakers, Transformers, Cables, Protective Relays, ATS, MCCs, And more….
• Adheres to testing and service protocols as well as customer requirements, ANSI/IEEE/NETA procedures and OEM requirements.
• At least 50% of the job will be field service but it also requires in-house engineering and testing support

Required Skills & Experience

- 2+ years of hands-on experience installing, maintaining, testing & repairing electrical equipment for power distribution system and substations.
- Switchgear/substation testing & repair
- Medium voltage switchgear/power distribution
- 2+ years of working on protective relays
- Willing to obtain a NETA II or III level technician certification
- Willingness to learn and Positive attitude
- Must be comfortable working in a field environment
- HS Diploma/GED or comparable experience
- Ability to work independently without need for direct supervision
- Capable of troubleshooting distribution and transmission controls circuits
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, complete a satisfactory criminal background check.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and currently have and be able to maintain a good driving record.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- NETA II or NETA III certification
- Advanced degree
- TWIC card
- Offshore/International work experience
- Ability to use personal vehicle (with vehicle allowance provided for travel)
- Low voltage experience
