Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a skilled Senior SQL Server Developer to join one of its railcar manufacturing and leasing clients in Addison, TX. This role focuses on designing and optimizing scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions to support business operations and analytics for an ongoing Asset Management Systems project. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in SQL Server development, Azure SQL, and Azure Data Factory, with strong skills in T-SQL performance tuning, ETL/ELT pipeline management, and cloud integration. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver who can collaborate with stakeholders, ensure data integrity and security, and contribute technical leadership to the team.
Day to Day Responsibilities include:
• Designing, developing, and maintaining SQL Server and Azure SQL databases to support operational and analytical workloads.
• Participating in weekly stakeholder meetings and Scrum ceremonies
• Building and managing robust ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory to integrate data from diverse sources.
• Collaborating with business stakeholders, data analysts, and engineers to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
• Optimizing T-SQL queries and stored procedures for performance and scalability.
• Ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance with internal and external standards.
• Supporting data governance initiatives and contribute to metadata management.
• Monitoring and troubleshooting data workflows, ensuring reliability and accuracy.
• Providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers and analysts.

Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in SQL Server development and database design.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Azure SQL and Azure Data Factory. (both ideal candidate will have both, sql server environment as a data professional and have also worked on new azure sql project experience)
• Strong proficiency in T-SQL, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and operational reporting.
• Experience with both Azure Blob Storage and Azure Key Vault
• Knowledge of Power BI or other data visualization tools.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices in Azure
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience with SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS
• Microsoft certifications such as Azure Data Engineer Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
