Job Description

Imperative Chemicals is seeking a confidential Analytical Lab Manager to oversee regional analytical labs in Cuero, TX. This role ensures accuracy, consistency, and quick turnaround for fluid sample analysis tied to chemical performance programs. Responsibilities include managing a team (3 direct reports: lab techs and chemists), overseeing testing methods, QC processes, and enforcing SOPs. Driving operational support and collaborating across departments. Ensuring safety compliance and stepping into testing when necessary. Maintaining familiarity with oilfield chemistry equipment and processes. Additional duties include monitoring workflows, adjusting staffing, managing lab budgets, and ensuring staff training and cross-training. This position requires a proactive leader who can balance technical expertise with team development and operational efficiency.

Compensation: $135,000 and up based on experience Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role include available request.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field.
• Minimum 4 years of lab experience, including 2 years in an oilfield analytical lab.
• At least 2 years of management experience or leading a team with direct reports.
• Strong understanding of analytical lab methodologies and processes.
• Hands-on experience with standard oilfield chemistry equipment (e.g., ICP, titrators).
• Proven ability to manage people and processes across regional analytical labs.
• Experience enforcing SOPs and driving compliance.
• Ability to analyze lab results and support operational decisions.
Additional responsibilities: Manage lab performance metrics (accuracy, safety, turnaround time, efficiency), oversee training and cross-training, and maintain lab budgets.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience with competitors in oilfield chemicals (e.g., ChampionX, Halliburton).
• Familiarity with quality control processes and method development.
• Exposure to organizational change initiatives.
Innovative and dynamic approach to problem-solving.
